Pupils at Blessed John Duckett Catholic Primary School in Tow Law enjoyed an informative and engaging day as the whole school came together for a special assembly led by the Fire Brigade.
During the assembly, children learned about the importance of fire safety and how to stay safe around fireworks. Pupils listened carefully throughout the presentation and impressed visitors with their thoughtful questions about keeping themselves, their families and their communities safe.
The excitement continued after the assembly when every class had the opportunity to explore a fire engine up close. Children enjoyed meeting the firefighters, learning more about their important role and discovering how the vehicle is used to help people in emergencies.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to reinforce important safety messages while giving pupils a memorable, hands-on learning experience. Exploring the fire engine and speaking with firefighters helped bring the lessons to life and inspired great curiosity across all year groups.
The school would like to thank the Fire Brigade for taking the time to visit and share such important safety advice with the children.
